Mesa floating roof pontoon liners are engineered for a precise fit on the floating roof storage tank. Each floating roof pontoon liner is designed after taking into consideration detailed dimensions of the pontoon. Below is an example of the type of instructions that Mesa provides for installing pontoon liners:

CAUTION: Check with your safety department to insure that you are working in a safe environment and following proper procedures. A live floating roof can be a dangerous area.

1. Review drawings and survey the area to come up with a plan of action prior to handling the liner. Proper openings in the pontoon will allow good access to the
   liner during installation, which will make the process easier and more efficient.
   A. An additional opening in the pontoon can be very beneficial, if not essential, to liner installation.
   I) Cut an opening with a few surrounding bolt holes. Off-site, a cylinder can be fabricated, the same size as the opening, with bolting flanges welded to both ends. This cylinder/flange weldment can be bolted to the pontoon. A
   flat plate can be used as a cover and bolted to the open flange. The flanges allow access to bolts and nuts for tightening, and gaskets can be used at the bolted connections.
   a) A water jet can be used to cold cut the opening in the pontoon. Dissipating the static can be critical during any cold cutting process.
   II) A small hole can be cold tapped into the pontoon to allow access for a fish tape.
2. Inspect the flooded pontoon. Pump out as much product as possible. If feasible, cover or remove all sharp edges within the pontoon.
