FLOATING ROOF OIL SKIMMER

Floating Roof Skimmers remove a light liquid product from the top of a heavier liquid product in an external floating roof tank (EFRT) or internal floating roof tank (IFRT). Aboveground Storage Tank owners typically use Mesa Floating Roof Skimmers to drain oil from the top of water in the tank. The Skimmer is secured to the underside of the floating roof and is connected to the shell nozzle by Mesa’s flexible drain hose.

The Skimmer is attached to the roof by a bracket to keep the
intake-to-roof distance constant. The Skimmer's vortex breaker
ensures optimum flow as the fluid starts into the flexible drain hose. Flexible drain piping features chemical resistance as required, smooth internal fluidway and repeating lay
pattern.

The skimmer Intake fitting is equipped with a stainless steel vortex breaker to induce optimum flow as the fluid starts into the skimmer conduit. Intake can be raised or lowered during installation.
