VAPOR GUARD© GAUGE POLE LADDER COVER INSTALLATION
The following is an example of the type of installation instructions that are included with Mesa Gauge Pole Cover orders :
- Attach the provided lifting sling to the lifting handles at the top of the cover. run the end of the sling through to the fixed roof manway to help with lifting the cover.
- Starting at the top end of the cover (end with the cutouts and handles), disconnect 3 or 4 of the spring loaded retaining clips that hold the wire hoops closed. leave the clip attached to one end of each wire hoop.
- Wrap the cover around the ladder and reconnect the first 2 or 3 wire hoops.
- Start the zipper at the end of the cone and pull it down to cover the re-closed wire hoops and clips. close the flap over the zipper.
- Continue closing and connecting the wire hoops and covering them with the zipper. the man on the fixed roof will pull the cover up with the sling as the personnel on the pontoon repeat the process 3 or 4 wire hoops at a time until all are connected and the zipper is fully closed. tuck any excess zipper under the cover.
- Clamp the cuff on the bottom end of the cover to the split ring on top of the transition box with 2 clamps. once the clamps are tight, remove excess clamp length if necessary.
- Clamp the top end of the cover to ladder poles, typically at the underside of the fixed roof but at a minimum of above the top slot (if not possible excess material will be provided to cover the slots). use 2 clamps to secure the cover to each pole. once the clamps are tight, remove excess clamp length if necessary.
