Oil companies, storage tank terminals, refineries, storage tank fabrication contractors and storage tank maintenance companies can all benefit from Mesa's storage tank emission solutions and flexible pipe systems. Since 1967, Mesa has manufactured and supplied specialized products to the petroleum and aboveground storage tank (AST) industries.  Mesa's Aboveground Storage Tank products include floating roof drain systems, flexible pipe systems, aboveground storage tank drains, EFRT drains, skimmer systems, oil skimmers, floating roof seal systems, primary and secondary seal fabrics, perimeter seal fabrics, primary curtain seals, secondary curtain seals, wedge seals for IFRTs, extruded wiper tips, gauge pole covers, guidepole covers, gauge pole ladder covers, roof leg boots, roof leg socks, vapor bladders, tube seals, foam log seals, foam delivery systems, flexible storage tanks, vapor collections systems, gas holder curtain seals, floating roof pontoon liners, pontoon repair bladders, emission controls for aboveground storage tanks and a selection of other specialty products and accessories.

Storage tank owners realize operation efficiency and long service lives with the use of Mesa flexible pipe for floating roof drain systems, skimmers and foam systems. Mesa flexible pipe options include Resist-All-Clad,© Armor-Clad© and MesaFlex©. All three Mesa flexible pipe brands have been known to remain in service for 20 years or more when properly installed . Mesa's flexible pipe systems are manufactured for a custom fit in each tank to ensure a consistent, predictable lay pattern that does not interfere with the components in the tank. Drain systems feature smooth internal fluidways which feature flow rates that cannot be surpassed by other systems in the industry. Mesa can accommodate any storage tank liquid product with the choice of a compatible flexible pipe system.

Tank owners meet or exceed environmental regulations and reduce product loss by using Mesa's line of emissions controls, seal systems, seal materials, bladders and other products fabricated from Mesa laminated fabrics. Mesa emission controls help tank owners meet stringent regulatory and environmental demands, reduce emissions, help prevent atmospheric contamination and cut down on product loss. Mesa seal material is used in primary and secondary curtain seal systems, wedge seals for IFRTs, foam log seals, tube seals, leg socks (boots), gauge pole covers (socks) and other gaskets. Operators of External Floating roof tanks (EFRT) and Internal Floating Roof Tanks (IFRT) enjoy the benefits of environmental compliance and increased operational efficiency.

Quality Management System

Mesa maintains a Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure a high level of quality through each stage of Mesa operations. The QMS system affects all Mesa departments--from the receptionist duties to the production staff working in the manufacturing plant. Procedures are in place to streamline customer purchase order processing, sales support to customers, customer feedback and requests, customer delivery satisfaction, vendor selection and accountability, manufacturing consistency, proper documentation of all engineering drawings, inventory levels, maintenance of production equipment, testing equipment calibration, reliability of computer networks, marketing presentations, packaging and shipping, corrective actions, preventative actions and many other procedures.

Quality Management System (QMS) Objectives

  • Provide our customers with the highest quality products to meet or exceed their requirements
  • Improve our "on-time" product deliveries
  • Establish plant safety as a top priority

Industry Association Membership
Mesa maintains active memberships in all the major trade associations serving the needs and interests of the Aboveground Storage Tank industry. Through this participation in industry associations, Mesa is able to monitor new regulations, standards, testing methods and approved specifications. The trade associations afford many opportunities for networking, which allows Mesa to offer solutions to those in need as new projects and plans develop at the various oil companies, refineries and liquid storage terminals in the US and abroad. The trade associations are a major resource for technical information in the industry, which Mesa's engineers employ in the design of our quality AST product line. Each year, many of the associations hold events, workshops and conferences bringing decision makers together to propel the industry forward.

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) - ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world-a trusted source for technical standards for materials, products, systems, and services.
Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) - Founded in 1912, IFAI is the only trade association in the world representing the entire specialty fabrics/technical textiles industry. We currently have nearly 2,000 member companies in 58 countries.
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) - The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA, established in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education.
International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) - ILTA represents 79 companies and partnerships that operate bulk liquid storage terminals in 47 countries. These facilities are located in ports and along rivers, canals and pipelines. They serve the vital economic purpose of transferring liquid products from one transportation mode to another.
American Petroleum Institute (API) - The American Petroleum Institute (API) is the only national trade association that represents all aspects of America’s oil and natural gas industry. Our nearly 400 corporate members, from the largest major oil company to the smallest of independents, come from all segments of the industry.

Mesa Engineering & Production
Mesa's full-time engineering staff is available to design for custom applications while maintaining standard product lines. The majority of Mesa products are engineered to specific dimensions and configurations to meet the needs of each customer's application and conditions. Engineers work closely with tank owners and maintenance companies relying on data supplied by customers on technical data sheets. The design of Mesa products begins with completion of the data sheet, which details such things as tank dimensions, location of roof support legs, vacuum breakers, sump connection, shell connection, other hard piping, floating roof type, pontoon design, existing rim seals, etc. Mesa engineers consider the complete design components of the storage tank and floating roof in each product design to ensure a precise installation that will give each tank owner worry free operation and long service. Chemical compatibility, temperature concerns, rainfall, other weather conditions are also taken in consideration by Mesa engineers in the product design. After analyzing all of this information, the engineering team provides detailed drawings and layouts to assist with a successful installation of Mesa products.

Mesa production staff maintains efficient production schedules to meet customer time constraints while providing quality products for Aboverground Storage Tanks (AST). Production management offers over 35 years of experience with AST components, including seal systems, urethane materials, flexible drain assemblies and other specialty products. Production staff are driven by continual improvement and efficiency through Mesa's Quality Management System (QMS). Dedication to quality is the top priority of Mesa production staff, who are proud to work for Mesa's customers. Mesa shows its appreciation to production staff for its efforts and achievements. Internal rewards programs, safety initiatives and other employee incentives are established to instill commitment and pride among Mesa workers. More information on Mesa's internal programs is available at Mesa's corporate webpage.
